The Ebola Project, a collaboration among businesses, schools, online media outlets, and social media activists to educate about Ebola, is underway in South Africa.
The Ebola Project teaches its signs and symptoms, explains who is at risk for it, and offers ways to treat and prevent the disease. The project is also advancing research on Ebola, vaccines for and treatment of Ebola, and new methods of care for those with Ebola.
The Ebola Project works with, and is not independent of, existing health organizations and medical providers. The project’s mission is to gather resources, promote research, advance research, educate those susceptible to Ebola about the disease, and help prevent its spread through publicizing available health care and preventive measures.
Without this collaborative effort, estimates are that Ebola would spread even more rapidly, leaving those uneducated about the disease especially susceptible to it. Knowledge of symptoms, risks and resources is one of the best preventatives available.
The Ebola Project is actively seeking all who wish to assist its efforts, whether from an advocacy, media creation, social media outlet or assistance with distributing health care information and facilitating access to care. This initiative, combined with those of existing organizations and providers, moves South Africa toward a future without Ebola.
